Coca-Cola originated one hundred and twenty nine years ago in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia by Dr. John S. Pemberton. Pemberton did not have much success as a pharmacist, so he decided he would try the beverage market after his time fought in the Civil War. During the first sales of Coca-Cola, also known as coke, each glass cost only about five cents. Today, the company sells approximately 1.9 billion beverages worldwide everyday. How was Pemberton able to spread his beverage globally and fulfill his wish to being successful? The first Coca-Cola commercial aired in the 1960’s. However, Coke became a famous soft drink long before then, and print ads are what helped the company successfully grow.
